Hello
My time in Fremantle was brief but good. I had a lovely farewell meal looking over the Indian ocean. The hostel played films every night which was a good bonus especially as it was a very cheap place to stay. I went to the old gaol there which was one of the best museums i have been to here. also i got YHA discount which made it even better. at the hostle there were plently of people to speak to, including an american girl who i dont think had every shaved her armpits in her life and the 1st time i noticed i though it was her long blonde hair insted, disgusting. so then i was off back to Perth to ctach the Indian Pacificall the way to Adelaide. it was a 2 night, 1 1/2 day journy which was thoroughly enjoyable even with the persistant chatter of a 74 yr old woman who had the journey a million times and loved pointing out all the differences between now and when she first rode the train.also she snored. i was in the sleeper chair and so there was no escaping her apart from when we stopped in the middle of the night at Koolgardie and the next day at a place called Cook which has a total population of 5, 2 or which seemed to man the souvenir shop. after 2 uncomfortable nights i got into Adelaide at 7.30 in the morning to a rainy city. i had a walk around and stuff but it was so nice to be able to sleep horrizontaly the first nite i was there

Adelaide, in my opinion, isnt as nice as Perth but maybe thats because its colder here! theres isnt as much to do but since i wasnt here very long that wasnt such a massive problem. iv done all the large museums and the botanical gardens are lovely, especially the international rose garden, of which i think i have around 80 pictures a nice roses and thier names. so far, after 16 days i have around 330 photos, so i dont envy the people im gunna glue to the sofa and make watch the slide show (with full comentry) of my whole collection of photos.

Iv been staying in a really nice hostel and made some nice friends here, especially with a girl called emma from england who is on the bunk above me. we went to the shopping area yesterday and today we went to see hunky hugh jackman in xmen.

I'm really excited to be going to Sydney 2morro, iv booked my accomodation and im staying in a yha where some of the rooms are in converted train carridges ( i hope i dont have to sleep upright agen!) although i think ill be in the main building coz im in an 8 bed drom. the hostle where im in at the mo has free breakfasts which is imense! so i get up in the morning and properly stuff myself.

The best place iv been to in Adelaide is probably Ayres House which is like a national trust owned property that you can go look round. However in Australia every where seems to run free tours unlike in england so i had a very imformative guide lade showing me around.

I hope everybody is good and dandy at home.

My week in Perth

Hello! I am now ending my time in Perth and this nice hostel. I have been here for a wekk and its been very fun and busy. my room was nice although I was on a top bunk without a side to it! Iv spent most of my money on post cards and stamps! Perth isnt a large city and im only a 5 mins or less walk to city center which is pedestrinised shopping area.
I started my week very jet lagged and tired but i did most of my sight seeing then! I have been to the Perth Mint which is where they smelt and pour gold. Also I have been to the museum and art gallery of Western Austrlia which was free to enter. Both were very good and the museum is only round the corner. On Thursday i did some very touristy but most importantly free things. I went to WA parliament and then to Kings Park which is the largest inner city park at 1000 acres and did a free tour of there. I was so impressed by the park that i went back the next day to do a free botanical tour which was again very imformative. The next day (saturday) was ANZAC day and i was going to get up early to watch the parade, but that didnt happen and insted i went for a wander and walked along the swan river. Then yesterday i crossed over by ferry to south perth and went to the zoo. I have been over budget quite a few days i have been here but i have put that down to suvenier spending which i hope will tail off soon as im already laden down which many very tuouristy items.
On thursday/friday i started to come up in a rash on my face and i didnt really think much of it but then on saturday i woke up and it looked like i had acne all over my cheaks and round my eyes however as saturday was a public holiday nothing was open. So i waited on sunday for a chemist to open and i got some overpriced pills t6o sort it out and this morning its looking a lot better although it still looks like iv had an appalling outbreak of spots.
Although i really like Perth there is only a limited amount of things to do and so today im moving onto a place called Fremantle which is south of Perth. Perth is on the Swan River, upstream and Fremantle is the port, downstream obviously. its not a very big place but theres a couple of museums to have look at. Im only going to be there for 2 nights and then im catching the Indian-Pacific to Adelaide.
When i took the ferry to south Perth i was looking out over the water and spotted a jelly fish. it wasnt like the ones iv seen on t.v it was brown with spots on it. then as we were going across the water there were tons! i couldnt beleive it! if somewell fell in the water they would stand a chnace. i dunno if they were poisonous but everything in australia seems to be. there were also white ones as well. when i get to fremantle i wanted to dip my feet in the water 2 say iv been in the indian ocean but now i dont think i will be having seen all.
At the moment. im sitting in the hostle in perth trying to upload all my pictures of perth using the simple uploader on facebook and its taking bloody ages. After that im going to go into town, post my postcards and then catch the train to Fremantle.
Hope everyone is fine and dandy at home

Hello to whoever is gunna read this or perhaps just me! Perth seems like a lovely place although perhaps a bit hot and i mean very hot! However all the poeple that live here seem to be in thier coats and jumpers still. Its kinda like spain i suppose! I got into my room at about midday after tralling the shopping district to waste some time till I could go to bed. iv been seeing double and head spinning with lack of sleep after being awake for 2 days straight. Before I went to sleep though I was very hungry and tried to find a pizza takeaway place so have a slice or something and with my astonding sense of direction I managed to chance upon the Western Australia museeum which is my plan for tommorro and I no most museums have cafes so I went in and found a lovely little place where i have a very nice lunch. and then back to bed to be woken up hours later by drummming. Im still very tired but at least now iv met somebody in my room.
In the square I was in earlier there was a sign saying the home and away cast will be in Perth on the 27th! unsure of whether i will be here then though becuase im thinking of going up or down (not sure which) to freemantle to stay for a couple of days. looks a very nice place and also i dont think there are 10 days worth of things to do in Perth. i went to the tourist info center today and they were very friendly and i got a whole ton of leaflets which im contemplating sending home because they are nice souvenirs and also beacuse i have found the GPO and its nice and airconned in there.
the hostle is nice with lots of people and a kitchen, laundry room and t.v rooms. there is a movie night happening tommorro which sounds good although probs will be very full. most people here sound english with lots of guys looking for work. most if not all definitly speak english.
anyway have no more to tell since i have only been here a day!
APART FROM i was walking down the road and passed a regular looking tree and i saw someone pointing in it and i looked up and there was what i think to be a galah!!!!!!! i very brightly coloured little parrot!
lots of love
xxxxxxxx
